A Message from Nykolai Blichar, Executive Director of LDXi Diaternity Inc.

Dear LDXi community:

In 2014, 11 individuals came together to create a new form of Greek life on college campuses for LGBTQ+ members and their allies. Under the colors of red, purple, and blue, our mascot the Kraken, and with our principles of solidarity, education, activism, and advocacy, Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity was born and the alpha chapter at Kutztown University decreed. I am proud to be among those founders who created an inclusive environment for our LGBTQ students in Greek life in addition to advocating for programs that enhance their college experience. Since that year, our organization has grown from one chapter to two and has since incorporated to become LDXi Diaternity, Inc. in 2018. Thanks to the efforts of a newly formed Board of Directors to manage current and future chapters and the day to day operations of the organization we have begun to move forward as an organization.

It has been my privilege since 2018 to serve as Executive Director of the organization, but all leaders recognize when it is time to pass the baton to the next generation. As many of you are aware, my fight for the LGBTQ community has led me into the political arena, as I seek to become a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In pursuing this endeavor, I recognize that the organization needs leadership during this time, and I will be passing the baton in order to pursue LGBTQ equality more broadly while ensuring the success of our Diaternity. I will continue to serve on the Board of Directors, representing the founders of our great organization as your new Founder’s Liaison. I will work to ensure that our traditions and customs continue to be cherished and celebrated, and to give voice to those who came before. It has been an absolute honor serving in this role and founding an organization that dares to change the narrative of what Greek life really means.
