About Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity
Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity Inc. is a nonprofit Greek-lettered service organization focused on the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. We are inclusive of all genders and sexualities and strive to create a space for LGBTQ+ students to belong on campus. Our principles of Solidarity, Education, Activism and Advocacy guide our work to educate ourselves and others and advance equality on higher education campuses around the country.

Supporting the LGBTQ+ community and the communities we live in.
What is a Diaternity?
"Diaternity" is a word that was created by the founders of Lambda Delta Xi in 2014. The word avoids using the gendered terms of "sorority" or "fraternity" to make a place where anyone can feel welcome.

Our Vision
Lambda Delta Xi Diaternity seeks to make a difference for the LGBTQ+ community on and off campuses across the country. Our work is driven by the notion that colleges and universities have long been places of change and growth.
Our principle of Solidarity encourages our members to fight for equality for all marginalized groups. Our principle of Education focuses our organization and members on always growing and teaching others what we learn. Our final principles of Activism and Advocacy encourage our members to stand up for marginalized people and for themselves. We strive to give our members the tools to uphold our four principles when they join a chapter.

Why is our Lambda lowercase?
Most Greek life organizations use the uppercase Greek alphabet in their names, however the lambda in our name is lowercase. This is because the lowercase lambda has traditionally been used as a symbol to represent the LGBTQ+ community. The symbol was adopted by the Gay Activists Alliance in 1970 and has been used to represent other LGBTQ+ focused groups since, such as Lambda Legal.
